Count anything, fast
A tally counter (also called a clicker counter or hand counter) is the quickest way to keep track of a number that goes up one at a time. This online version works on any device:
- Click or tap the big area to add 1
- −1 to undo a mistake
- Reset to start again
- Keyboard shortcuts: ↑ adds, ↓ subtracts, Esc resets
Common uses
- Event entry: count people coming through a door
- Fitness: reps, laps, skipping-rope jumps
- Stocktaking: items on a shelf or in a box
- Surveys and research: traffic counts, bird counts, observations
- Games: score keeping, turn counting, or tracking game events
Tips
- On a phone, add the page to your home screen so it opens like an app.
- For counting with the keyboard, the spacebar counter lets you count with Space while you look somewhere else.
- Need a timer as well? The manual click test counts clicks and measures time together.
Nothing you count is sent anywhere. The number lives in your browser only.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my count if I close the page?
No. The count is saved in your browser's local storage after every click and comes back when you return, on the same browser and device. Clearing site data resets it.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. The counter works with taps, and the button is large enough to tap without looking.
